Gallery of Commissions

My commissioned work often begins with a photograph that conveys a personal moment or significant place -
I embrace the process of gathering together a color & texture palette of yarns, preparing the behind-the-warp sketch (cartoon) and constructing the appropriate sized frame loom.

Inspirations

Here is a sampling of my self-inspired tapestry weaving.

I approach my work with an initial idea of what I want to create -

color & texture palette - size & imagery.

After warping my loom, I begin to weave allowing my art to evolve naturally.

"Southwest Landscape"

About this piece...

The yarns are a gentle combination of wool and cotton - I leaned into soft southwest colors - turquoise, dark yellow, salmon and a variety of light and dark browns with the dramatic white jetting through the middle indicating power and purpose.
